Let perfume, lotions and other beauty products dry before adding your jewellery. Remove it before bathing, swimming, exercise, sleep, cooking or housework to limit contact with moisture, chemicals and knocks.

Lightly wipe each piece with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to lift away everyday oils. Avoid rubbing hard, especially on plated surfaces.

Keep jewellery in separate soft pouches or lined compartments, away from damp areas, heat and direct sunlight. Close necklace clasps to help prevent tangles and secure earring backs before storing.

Silver can develop tarnish over time. For plain, unplated silver, use a silver polishing cloth gently, following its instructions. Check that any cleaner is suitable for the entire piece, including its stones and settings. Do not use silver dips unless they are specifically approved for your piece.

Start with a soft, dry cloth. If further cleaning is needed and your piece’s care instructions allow it, use a cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and a little mild soap. Remove any soap with a clean damp cloth, then dry gently and fully before storing. Avoid soaking, abrasive cleaners, silver dips and polishing compounds, which can damage the finish.

Cleaning needs vary with the materials used. Avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaning unless confirmed suitable. If a stone feels loose, a clasp is damaged or you are unsure how to clean your piece, stop wearing or cleaning it and ask us for advice.
